KARACHI: Art-work by Rabia Farooqui titled “Clap Clap, I Approve!” was exhibited at Sanat Initiative Art gallery recently and the opening reception of this event was a huge success attended by leading diplomats, industrialists, celebrities, socialites, art-fraternity and media personnel.
13 paintings done with gouache on wasli paper were on display at the exhibition and drew mixed response from the art fraternity which included art lovers, art critiques and art collectors alike. An old and chubby man with aging grace on his face maybe into his late sixties seems to be doing a lot in her paintings; from running on a jogging machine, karaoke, cat-fight, meeting someone, strumming a guitar, playing badminton, or playing with a pussy cat, dancing to rhythm, cooking, peek-a-boo and laughing through cracks. Exhibition will remain open till 03rd August 2017.
