1st GCC Patient Experience Summit start from 18 September in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI – Driving quality and safety, and enhancing patient experience in Abu Dhabi healthcare sector are top priorities for the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD). With the vision to promote a dialogue between different stakeholders to deliver the best patient centered care and patient experience, HAAD is officially endorsing the 1st GCC Patient Experience Summit organized by Fleming.

The only comprehensive summit on patient experience dedicated for the GCC will take place from 18 to 19 September 2017 in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Dr. Asma Ibrahim Al Mannaei, Director – Healthcare Quality Division at the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and guest panelist at the summit emphasized the importance and priority that HAAD places on patient care.

“Abu Dhabi is witnessing rapid growth and improvement within the healthcare sector,” Dr. Al Mannaei said. “With the launch of the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Quality Index (JAWDA) back in 2014, we have initiated significant improvement of patient waiting times, and effectiveness of patient-centered healthcare provision in Abu Dhabi. ”

“The aim of our JAWDA initiative is to drive improvements in outcome quality and access to healthcare across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by involving healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals as well as patients, and international experts,” she said. Dr. Al Mannaei furthermore adds, “With these successful initiatives, we have as well taken the important step to establish Abu Dhabi as a unique Medical Tourism hub, which is an integral part of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision to diversify its economy.”

Dr. Asma Al Mannaei will be part of the leaders’ panel and will present her experience of how HAAD has succeeded to transform patient experience, quality and timeliness of healthcare services. She will as well share her concepts of how leadership can create a culture of patient-family centered environment as one of the key success factors for high patient satisfaction.

The summit will address various topics ranging from effective patient-family centric care, improving patient experience through staff engagement, patient flow optimization, patient driven healthcare systems, plane tree and patient centered care, facility design, social media management and digital revolution for healthcare delivery amongst others.

Amongst the target audience of the summit are Doctors, Nurses, Medical Officers, Patient Experience, Patient Service and Customer Care directors, managers and heads; Quality and Safety teams, operations and facility management departments along with HR and business development   managers.
