Tejar Dubai launches 30th commercial project

DUBAI: Tejar Dubai, an initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced that it has recently launched The Caterer, a new age company offering nutritious and balanced meals to businesses, communities and individuals.

This catering service, located in Dubai Investment Park, is the 30th commercial project to be launched under Tejar Dubai to date, while it is the fifth business venture to be launched under the entrepreneurship development programme this year.

The Caterer marked its official launch with an opening ceremony, which was attended by H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber, Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President – Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, and Faisal Al Ketbi, Founder of The Caterer.

The Caterer offers nutritious and balanced meals that contribute to the wellness of individual across different verticals such as government, corporate, educational and other institutions. It also serves healthy food to different occasions and purposes such as for corporates, social gatherings, food trucks or even provide catering services at schools and large governmental institutions.

H.E. Al Ghurair stated that the launch of this new project reflects the strong commitment of Dubai Chamber to support young Emirati entrepreneurs by helping them take their first steps into the business world and providing them with access to growth opportunities.

Dubai Chamber’s Chairman emphasised the tremendous success that Tejar Dubai has witnessed since it was first established in 2013.A total of 30 commercial projects have been launched to date, which clearly shows Tejar Dubai’s commitment to support young Emirati talent to overcome the challenges associated with launching a business.

For his part, Al Ketbi thanked Tejar Dubai for its support in getting the business off the ground, and explained that one of the company’s main ambitions is to contribute to the overall wellness and health of individuals and society.

Al Ketbi said he hopes to expand the business in the future by managing canteens and cafeterias across organisations and institutions in Dubai, and tendering for government contracts. Eventually, the company aims to branch out into grab-and-go kiosks and healthy vending machines.

Tejar Dubai is a specialised entrepreneurial development programme which provides support to young Emirati entrepreneurs through classroom learning, on-site training, mentoring and business advice, as well as networking opportunities with local and international business leaders, and access to investment capital.
