DUBAI: Gulf Craft will start 2018 in style in Thailand at the new luxury lifestyle event Phuket Rendezvous from January 4 to 7, 2018.
“Thailand is an increasingly important market for several reasons,” said Tony Nixey, Managing Director of Gulf Craft’s dealer in the country, Go Boating Thailand.
“Not only is it popular with the global yachting community, who sail from all over the world to explore its resorts and islands, it is also a gateway to Southeast Asia’s mature and emerging boating markets. In many parts of the region, such as China, Vietnam and Indonesia, newly affluent families are making their first forays into the world of yachting, and Gulf Craft is keen to capitalize on this trend.”
Gulf Craft will display four crafts at the fair – its entry-level yacht Majesty 48, the Oryx 36 sport cruiser, and two family and fishing boats, the Silvercraft 34 and Silvercraft 31 HT.
“Boats of these sizes are the most attractive models in terms of usability, and the line-up reflects demand for vessels suited to diving, fishing, and island hopping,” continued Nixey.
“Many destinations on and around Phuket are best explored by boat, and these practical vessels enable people to visit awe-inspiring spots that are inaccessible to larger yachts.
“It is also a great range to present to charter companies, more and more of which are springing up in Thailand.”
Phuket Rendezvous places a strong emphasis on luxury lifestyle trends and the event’s diverse schedule of attractions is likely to appeal to both trade visitors and members of the public.
A free four-day seminar program will cover topics as varied as cryptocurrencies, conservation, yachting, property, charters, conservation, and resource management. Also planned are a fashion show, art exhibition, car parade, and a photographic workshop, as well as nightly parties.
Gourmands will find plenty to whet their palates, with champagne, canapés, and haute cuisine served alongside the local delicacy of smoked fish. Children’s entertainment will include a performance by a master illusionist, as well as workshops, competitions, and games. For the first time on Phuket, the globally famous Elephant Parade will make an appearance, offering numerous photo opportunities.
Nixey added: “Gulf Craft took part in every Phuket International Boat Show (previously known as PIMEX)event and exhibited yachts of various sizes, including the Majesty 105.
“We welcome this new event and are sure it will be a great opportunity to showcase Gulf Craft’s versatile offerings.”
The fairwill replace the long-running PIMEX and be held on two sites – Royal Phuket Marina and the private islet of Koh Rang Noi.
