ISLAMABAD: Mad Decent Block Party is all set to arrive to hold concert in the country’s capital next month. In 2016, Diplo – founder of MDBP, played a successful show alongside Elliphant and Pakistani musicians, Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi (SNKM) in Islamabad.
This year, the concert will include performances by Pakistani artists Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi (SNKM), Chrome Sparks, Lyari Underground (L.U.G), Shamoon Ismail, Zoh, Haider Musthesan, Valentino Khan, Mikki Murshed and Osama Com Laude. Laude and L.U.G. use their music to increase awareness about the consequences of drug addictions in young children and talk about injustice and human rights. A part of the proceeds from the concert are to go to ‘Sahil.org’ – a non-profit organization working towards the rights of children in Pakistan – in support of seven-year-old Zainab Ansari.
Sahil.org has been working since 1996 on child protection especially against child sexual abuse. They operate in four provinces, with their head office in Islamabad and have been registered with the Economic Affairs Division. Frieha Altaf, CEO at Catalyst, has been appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the organisation. The CSR division at Catalyst – Catwalk Cares aims to work towards many social issues in Pakistan and has joined hands with Sahil to promote their cause.
Block Party will be making its debut in Islamabad for the biggest night of electronic dance music in Pakistan’s history.
