Trailer and music of upcoming movie Azad launched

KARACHI: A press conference for the upcoming movie, Azad was held here at Royal Rodale club yesterday.

The press conference, hosted by Shanaz Ramzi started with an introduction to the film and studio. The movie trailer was then shown with some of the cast and crew members present at the occasion, after which the director and co-producer of the film, Rehan Sheikh, along with executive producer, Hasan Naeem and actor Salman Shahid were called upon stage for a discussion on the film, moderated by Ramzi. Abbas Ali Khan along with singer Natasha performed live to “Mein azad hoon.” This was followed by a live rendition of “Kuch mat pucho” by Abbas and Rehan Sheikh.

The lyricist, Ali Moin, and Abbas Ali Khan were then invited to the stage for a discussion on the music.A video of ‘Tehriye hazoor’ was then shown, followed by a live performance of the song by singer and music composer,Schumaila Rehmat Hussain, who to everyone’s delight also performed live to “Tanha”, the other number sung by her in the film. A discussion on the making of these two songs took place with Schumaila, Rehan Sheikh and Abbas Ali Khan, after which the floor was opened to questions.

“Azad” produced as an independent film, is an off-beat comedy drama with a unique take on story-telling and a hint of romance. With its dynamic and realistic characters, the film breaks away from traditional narratives, and take the audience on a humorous and engaging journey of self-discovery.

Slated for release on February 9th, the movie is being distributed nationwide by Eveready group of companies, and the cast includes Rehan Sheikh, Sanam Saeed, Salman Shahid, Sabreen Hisbani among many others. The director and producer of the movie is Rehan Sheikh while executive producer is Hasan Naeem.
