Training session on “Sensory Evaluation, Principles & Techniques held

KARACHI: National Alliance for Safe Food (NAFS PAKISTAN) with the collaboration of Engro Foods Private Limited and Department of Food Science & Technology, Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education jointly organised one day training session on “Sensory Evaluation, Principles & Techniques”.

President, NAFS Rana Awais Khan welcomed all participants and introduced the DIHE Food Department and NAFS joint activities as well as scope of training.  The main objective of this session was to train the professionals about Sensory Evaluation Procedures & Techniques which are integral part of research & development in food industries. Representatives from Popular Foods, Engro Foods, Unites King, Pak Land Foods, Global Halal Services, Specialities & many more.

The lead trainer was Dr. Muhammad Nasir, Manager Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Engro Foods. He emphasised on developing sensory labs and education in subject as this is much needed area. He said further that Safe and Healthy food is common right of consumer and Sindh Food Authority is pleasant news and hope this will be beneficial for consumers and industries to for providing safe food to consumers.

Syed Ibrar Hussain, CEO Specialities and Lt. Khurram Shehzad, Food Expert Pakistan Navy also talked about sensory evaluation. At the end of the seminar Rector of DIHE Prof .Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi delivered a thanks note to all respected guest speakers and participant from different industries, academia and research scholars.

Lt. Zafar Nawaz, Dr. Marium Tarique, Dr. Rakhshanda Baqai, Dr. Syeda Sadaf Akber, Mujahid Ali Khan, Kamran Saleem and Syed Arsalan Ali also attended the session. News Desk
