MANAMA: Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, yesterday held a walkathon in celebration of Bahrain Sports Day and in keeping with the airline’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst its workforce. The initiative gathered H.E. Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani, Chairman of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors, alongside Gulf Air’s executive management and staff together at the airline’s Muharraq headquarters from where they commenced a walkathon at Dohat Arad, to mark the occasion which was celebrated all over the Kingdom.
Gulf Air, commenced operations in 1950, becoming one of the first commercial airlines established in the Middle East. Today, Gulf Air is a major international carrier serving 42 cities in 25 countries spanning three continents.
The airline operates double daily flights or more to 10 regional cities, in addition to select destinations in the Indian Subcontinent and Europe, from its hub at Bahrain International Airport. Sports Desk
