ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) welcomed Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s announcement of far reaching tax incentives for salaried individuals across Pakistan. This will have a massive impact on Pakistan’s IT and ITeS sector and will help companies attract and retain top talent, in addition to expanding the overall tax base.

The IT sector is Pakistan’s fastest growing industry, having doubled over the last four years to cross $ 3 billion in size and employing more then 200,000 highly skilled professionals. P@SHA’s Chairman, Barkan Saeed stated “Such bold moves by the government will have an impact across multiple industries and our IT industry fully supports this.”

P@SHA is working closely with the Prime Ministers office and multiple ministries to finalise long term policy goals that will help grow this important sector even further.

Secretary General, Shehryar Hydri also emphasized that “The government is realizing the importance of the IT sector as a major enabler of our exports as well as the local economy. We look forward to more positive policy announcements by this Government in the upcoming budget.” News Desk
