DUBAI: Okhai Memon International Forum has organized “1st Okhai Memon International summit” with the collaboration of Okhai Memon community based in Dubai. Event was held at local restaurant near Shaikh Hamdan Award Complex, Jumeirah Road which was attended by around 150 people from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi.
Abdul Aziz Kath (Patron) highlighted during his speech that this is first ever gathering in the history of Okhai Memon Community and I am impressed to see overwhelming response from our brothers and people from other countries are also approaching us and soon we will visit them. He also requested all brothers to help The Okhai Memon Youth Services (OMYS) for the promotion of education.
President OMYS Abdul Rasheed Ganatra was also invited from Karachi and he briefed audience about OMYS activities and new projects. He further highlighted that educating the community is a process and not an event. In this connection we have made commitment to the community that InshaALLAH we will ensure that not a single student is denied the right of education for financial reasons. In order to fulfill our promise we have planned an EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUND with a target of Rs. 25 million in 2018 which will further increase in coming days. In this connection we are approaching potential donors locally and internationally to reach the target. We believe that income generated from the fund will inshallah be enough to meet the educational needs of the students.
At the end, Abdul Sattar Jakhura thanks all the people specially Abdul Aziz Kath, Javed Mullara, Abdul Hameed Markatiya, Asif Mullara, Nadeem Barai, Javed Arbi, Farhan Suriya, Abdul Aziz Gatta, Irfan Vayani, Tayyab Mosani, Ibrahim Jakhura, UAE Coordinator, OMIF and all brothers those attended the event and contributed for OMYS.
