ABU DHABI: Nirvana Travel & Tourism, Oman Air and YougoMorocco have announced their new joint venture partnership for the UAE market which aims to increase the number of GCC visitors to Morocco, while simultaneously promoting Oman Air’s new fleet which offers direct flights from the GCC to Morocco.
The collaboration which was announced at an exclusive press conference held on 23 April, 2018 at the Arabian Travel Market 2018 in Dubai, revealed that the launch of the direct flights was being driven by a variety of factors including an increase in the number of travellers from the GCC to Morocco, and the development in recreational, leisure, hospitality, cultural and entertainment facilities in the country which has poised Morocco as an emerging tourist destination.
Commenting on the partnership, AlaaAl Ali, (CEO) Chief Executive Officer said, “The promotional campaign designed to bring awareness and promote touristic opportunities in Morocco, aims to encourage Gulf travellers and tourists to discover the enriching culture and landmarks of Morocco. Morocco has significantly developed its tourism and vacation experience making it an idyllic holiday destination for families and travellers from the Gulf region, which is also now easily accessible due to the direct flights offered by Oman Air”.

Speaking on the growth of tourism in Morocco, SaddikChakir, General Manager of Morocco National Tourism Office Middle East and Asia in Abu Dhabi. added, “In 2017, Morocco has seen a remarkable 6% increase in its number of tourists totalling to a massive 11 million tourists and has projected a 10% increase in 2018. Noteworthy is this growth has been attributed to the completion of Moroccan infrastructure and tourist projects.
