ISLAMABAD: Air University, during its annual Open House 2018, has provided opportunity to its graduating students from Engineering Sciences and Computer Sciences to present their final year projects. According to details, more than 500 students had successfully demonstrated their talent in the areas of information technology, robotics & industrial automation, healthcare, power sector, energy sector, telecom sector, electronics industry etc. Chief Guest of the ceremony was Imtiaz Ali Rastgar, founder and Chairman of Rastgar Group. He is also a renowned entrepreneur of engineering sector.
Imtiaz Rastgar, during his visit to the Open House stalls along with the Vice Chancellor AVM (r) Faaiz Amir, hoped that the event would strengthen industry-academia partnership. He lauded competence and hard work of Air University students. Open House showcased total 144 brilliant projects related to engineering and computer science.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Faaiz Amir also expressed his views on the importance of industry-academia cooperation. He was of the view that Open House is serving as a platform where the educated youth could be made aware of utilising their potential. He said that strong linkage between industrial sector and academia is the most important factor to ensure national development.
The house concluded with the prize distribution ceremony to acknowledge the top projects in each department. On the occasion, representatives from almost 24 renowned companies were also present to acknowledge the innovative projects designed by the students. Some of those organizations included: UBL, AKSA-SDS, Obortunity, Jin Technologies, Launch Pad Interactive, BrightSpyre, Vheelz, Meezan Bank, Ciscom, Nescom, Change Mechanics, Go Solar, Media Hut Software House, and Silk Bank.
