BANGKOK: His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun presided over the celebration of Mawlid al-Nabi in Thailand 1439 AH and presented honorable awards to supporters of Muslim affairs in Thailand.
Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, Acting President, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), represented the Company to receive an honorable award for special flights that were arranged for Thai Muslims to attend the Hajj Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia for several consecutive years. The award was received at a ceremony that was held at the National Administration Center for Islamic Affairs, Chalerm Phrakiat.
The Mawlid al-Nabi celebration in Thailand marks the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, which is held by The Central Islamic Council of Thailand together with the government sector, charity foundations, and state enterprises. At the ceremony, respect was paid and blessings were asked of the Prophet Muhammad. Thai Muslims recited Al-Quran scriptures, Islamic text that is read by all Muslims. Trade booths were organized for the sale of Muslim products and Halal foods, in addition to educational presentations. News Desk
