DUBAI: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organised a series of charitable activities in cooperation with the Angel Appeal initiative to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Day 2018 and the Year of Zayed.
Over the course of two days, more than 100 Chamber staff volunteered their time to put together 1,000 Ramadan gift packs containing personal items and distribute them to dhow sailors working at Dubai Creek.
Activities organised as part of Zayed Humanitarian Day 2018 complement other efforts led by the Chamber during Ramadan, including its support as a host and sponsor for the 22nd session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
Zayed Humanitarian Day serves as a reminder to follow the example of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, whose humanitarian legacy still lives on.
Last year, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, declared 2018 as the Year of Zayed in the UAE, marking 100 years since the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Throughout the year, a wide range of activities, events and initiatives are being organised across the UAE which express his vision and values. BIZ TODAY REPORT
