ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) has asked the government to announce a long-term policy for export of wheat and wheat made-ups.
In a joint statement, PFMA officer bearers including Asif Raza, Liaquat Ali Khan, Iftikhar Mattoo and Mian Riaz said that the upcoming government should announce a long-term policy for export of wheat and related products for saving over 10 million tons of wheat stored across the country.
They said the policy should focus on value-addition to the agricultural exports so that the country can earn precious foreign exchange and create some balance in its export earnings and import bills.
They said that export of wheat and its products will not only help the country to overcome the trade deficit but also bring prosperity for the farming community. NNI
