Arts Council of Pakistan organises event in memory of journalists Ilyas Shakir and Ashfaq Anjum

KARACHI: Press and Publication Committee, City Thinkers Form, Film and TV Journalist Association of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized an event in the memory of famous journalists and columnist late Ilyas Shakir and Ashfaq Anjum yesterday.

The leader of MQM Dr Farooq Sattar said that when he talked about some serious issue his seriousness is very keen to listen. He further said that Ilyas Shakir is the one who change the Pakistani journalism. Unity is the power to success, similarly some achievements of Ilyas Shakir and Ashfaq Anjum are some examples of unity.

The leader of Nizam-e-Mustafa Party said that Ilyas Shakir will always be remembered in journalism. President of Arts council Mohammad Ahmed Shah said that Ilyas Shakir was an honest person, his struggle with his friends for the newspaper “Qaumi Akhbar” will always be remembered.

His best friend Mukhtar Aqil said that he was against the maltreating he always want peace and his writings are the best example of it, as his book “ Aaj Ka Karachi” which clearly describes the picture of peace. At the same time his daughter also share some views about his father that he had the noble personality he always shown his interest to help others, he was the best father and his dreams which he cannot accomplish will sonly accomplished by us.

During the condolence many members as professor Aizaz Farooqui, Habib Jan Baloch, Mukhtar Aaqil, Iqbal Latif and many other describes the personality these marvelous personalities by discussing their lives. The co-ordinator of this program Sabir Ali share some views on behalf of those who were not able to attend the program. At the end of the evening each and every member recite prayers as they rest in peace. News Desk
