Diplomatic Reception on the Anniversary of the 73rd Indonesian Independence Day

KARACHI: To mark the 73rd Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesian Consul General in Karachi and Mrs. Totok Prianamto hosted a diplomatic reception at the Movenpick Hotel on Thursday, 13 September, 2018.

The reception was attended by Sindh Minister for Women Development Syeda Shahla Raza and Sindh Government officials, including the members of Sindh Assembly, diplomats, consul generals, businessmen, politicians and representatives from civil society in Karachi. It was started by playing the national anthems of Indonesia and Pakistan and followed by remarks of the Consul General Totok Prianamto and Minister for Women Development who was the chief guest at the reception.

On his remarks, the Consul General welcomed all the guests and extended the warmest regards of the guests to those who are attending the reception. He also extended warmest and sincerest felicitation to the Government and people of Pakistan, particularly in Sindh Province, on the auspicious occasion of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan which was celebrated on 14th August 2018.

The Consul General shortly elaborated the Indonesian current economic development under the dynamic leadership of President Joko Widodo which was characterized, among others by significant achievement in economic growth amid the current global economy slowdown.

The Consul General expressed his confidence that the future of bilateral economic relations between the two brotherly countries will be more strengthened in years ahead.

Syeda Shahla Raza who in her speech congratulated the Indonesian Consul General on the auspicious occasion. She reiterated the longstanding relations between the two brotherly countries which has been established since a long time, and underlined the huge potentials the two countries have that should be further explored for the mutual benefit of the two countries, particularly in economic sector, among others through business­ to-business contact.

During the function, some Indonesian traditional cuisine were served and Indonesian songs & dances were performed which were much appreciated by the guests.
