DUBAI: Dubai South has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) as part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation with the pharmaceutical sector and enable pharmaceutical companies to take advantage of the opportunities to operate within Dubai South. The MoU is part of a shared commitment between the two entities aimed at achieving government integration in line with the UAE Vision 2021. It aims to provide a single framework for developing the procedures for issuing license and registration for pharmaceutical manufacturers in Dubai South.
The agreement seeks to promote the implementation of legislation for the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industry. The MoU was signed by H.E. Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing office, Chairman of Supreme Pharmacovigilance Committee at MOHAP and Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Logistics District at Dubai South. Ahmad emphasized that the new agreement is an important move towards improving the performance of the pharmaceutical sector and promote its contribution in supporting the UAE’s efforts to diversify the economy and shift to the post-oil era.
