KARACHI: A “Children’s Benefit Concert” was held on Dec. 6th at the PAF Museum grounds to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disability. 4,000 underprivileged and disabled children from over 40 institutions and schools in Karachi were the VIP guests. The event was organized by Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) sponsored by KFC, Pakistan.
The goal of this yearly event is to provide a memorable experience for children who do not otherwise have such opportunities. It also creates an inclusive situation as children who are “differently-abled” mingle with mainstream children.
TV Host Faizan Haqqee launched the 3 hour event which featured exciting live performances by special guest artists Fuzon and Shazia Khushk. Additionally, a mime artist, Muneeb-ur-Rehman and a blind singer, Rahat entertained the children with fun and meaningful performances.
The guests praised the efforts of the organizers to provide a memorable and inclusive event for these children.
Over 100 volunteers from local schools and colleges worked tirelessly to seat the children and to serve them complimentary snacks and drinks during the concert. The event consisting of over 4,000 children was very well organized with great attention given to the children being served and taken care of.
