SHARJAH: President all Pakistan Memon Federation (APMF), Hanif Motlani, in a press conference held at Karachi Press Club informed media that this 27 January, which is the date of death anniversary of Sir Adamji Dawood, will be commemorated as the “Memon Solitary Day”. So that our this generation come to know about the services of Sir Adamji Dawood, Sir Abdullah Haroon, Suleman Esa Bhai Memon, Abdul Latif Ibrahim (KaKa Bawani), Suleman Pir Muhammad Dewan, Haji Dawood, Haji Wali Muhammad, Haji Yousuf Allah Rakha Patel and other Memon figures who also served in the creation of Pakistan. He also said that the role of Memon community in the social and economical sector of Pakistan.
Lamenting on the personality of Sir Adamji Dawood, Hanif Motlani Said, Sir Adamji Dawood was a great Industrialist. His role in Pakistan movement is not hidden from anybody. He was close aide of Quid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. British government also presented him with the title of “Sir” in 1938 for his services for the people of Hindustan. His blank check for the movement of Pakistan was an exemplary act which can never be forgotten. He also said that Memon is recognized worldwide as peace loving community. This loves its country and helps less privileged. That’s why it supports all others in need.
He also said that Memon community is the backbone of Pakistan’s economical fabric. Memons not only built Mosques and Madarsas but also built shelter homes, ambulance services, Educational institutes, and hospitals.
All Pakistan Memon Federation is the sole central body of all other Memon community organizations in Pakistan. All other Memon communities are united under its umbrella. Briefing about the details of the program on 27 January on “Adamji Day” he said that Quran Khwani will be held at 2pm at for the Eisal e Sawab of Sir Adamji Dawood. Then “Memon Solitary walk” will be initiated at 3pm from Liaquaat Memorial Library to Memon Federation House near Islamia College. In this walk prominent personalities of different walks of life will participate. The main purpose of this walk is to highlight the services held by Memon community and to bring the attention of government that this community has not been recognized in a becoming manner.
Further briefing on the future programs of the Memon Community he said that All Pakistan Memon Federation plans to build new universities and hospitals. In this regards Government of Sindh has agreed to grant us a land but unfortunately that promise has still not been fulfilled.
