DUBAI: Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted a high-level delegation from Hamburg at its headquarters where the two sides agreed to explore prospects for cooperation in several strategic areas, including smart city solutions, autonomous transport, blockchain and 3D printing.
The visiting delegation was led by H.E. Dr Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor and President of the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and received by H.E. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber.
During the meeting, H.E. Buamim highlighted the strong economic ties and synergies shared by Dubai and Hamburg as regional trade hubs with well-established logistics sectors and ambitious strategies in place that have facilitated the adoption of innovative technologies. He noted that the strategic partnership between Dubai Chamber and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce has created new channels of fruitful cooperation over the last decade, with the Dubai-Hamburg Business Forum serving as an important platform for business exchange under this partnership.
H.E. Buamim noted that Dubai Chamber often organises trade missions to Germany and has participated in several editions of SMM Hamburg, the world’s largest shipbuilding exhibition. German companies are well-represented at Arab Health 2019, he said, adding that their strong participation in the annual exhibition reflects growing interest in Dubai within the German business community.
For his part, H.E. Dr Tschentscher described Dubai as a dynamic city that actively shapes its future and praised the emirate’s optimistic attitude and technological progress, stressing his commitment to furthering enhancing Dubai-Hamburg ties.
