KARACHI: The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi in collaboration with Pearl Continental Hotel is organizing Sri Lankan Food and Cultural Festival to held from Friday, 8 till Sunday, 10th February, 2019 at beautiful Marquee of Pearl Continental. This festival will give its dinners a bountiful feast of authentic Sri Lankan cuisines courtesy of guest R.A S.U.B. Ranaweera and R.G. Sumanasena who are being flown in from Sri Lanka.
The concept of the festival is to offer authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and in a lively ambiance of music & entertainment with Sri Lankan traditional troupe.
His Excellency Mr. G.L. Gnanatheva, Consul General of Sri Consul in Karachi said, the traditional Sri Lankan cultural performances featuring dance, music and beautiful staging and costumes integrated the essences of Pak-Sri Lanka relationship during the show.
Mr. Aslam Khan, General Manager, Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi said, some of the Staples of Sri Lankan cuisine is rice, coconut and spices. Some basic ingredients and cooking techniques make Sri Lankan dishes hearty and spicy, particularly real cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom, curry leaves and chili peppers. All these ingredients are quite same and mostly used in Pakistani cuisine as well, so I am sure that the guests will also love the Sri Lankan cuisine.
