KARACHI: Digital Content Producers International (DCPI) spreads its wings in to Pakistan empowering people to become entrepreneurs. DCPI launched its membership program in Pakistan at Karachi Press Club yesterday. Offering all cadres of people working on digital mediums to join and benefit from an internationally accredited organization.

Addressing the press conference Mr. Kashif Moten Director Asia for DCPI insisted that digital is the only way forward and Pakistan must come at par with the rest of the world before the 4th Industrial revolution. “Bloggers, journalists, vloggers, opinion makers, social influencers are a great asset of the nation. “Today we have thousands of jobless journalists who know their job best but due to the lack of a platform are unable to support their families.

DCPI is willing to provide them a digital platform turning them in to entrepreneurs. One of the valued speaker’s Mr. Fakhar Aslam CEO Diamond Heart Social Media and PR agency urged the people working on digital mediums to join this unique socio economic platform offering its members a variety of facilities. Mr. Kashif further added that bloggers, vloggers and digital journalists have always been treated as second grade citizens facing huge discrimination by people as well as the companies. A recent example is mistreatment of journalists at the Chinese Food festival by GM Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi followed by use of inappropriate language and tone & discriminatory, demeaning messages. This clearly indicated that people working on digital mediums have absolutely no recognition and this is just one of the places where DCPI will support their members.

Speaking about the policy of the company he said, “Digital Content Producers International is a socio corporate firm which provides platform to all the companies & individuals working in the field of digital”. “The objective of this company is to create grounds and level playing field for all working in the digital industry. Have equal recognition for all the people working on digital mediums”, he added.

Speaking about the benefits for members of this organization it was unveiled that members will be able to interact with each other exchange business opportunities. There are several mentors of the digital media industry who have expressed their inclination in mentoring programs for our members for which we are ready to collaborate the Ministry of IT and MOIB but during the past one year there has been no response from the Government. Discussing further the unfriendly attitude towards digital, the speakers suggested that the government of Pakistan to take serious actions against the cyber crimes and dis-regulation of social media but Freedom of Expression cannot be left at the government’s beck & call. However it has come to our notice that the current regulations are being made to oblige certain political parties and support their agenda rather than Freedom of Expression. PR
