KARACHI: Dettol recently conducted a Story Telling session at the Deaf Reach School, unveiling the latest adventure of the Dettol Warriors against their evil germ rival, Germoon.
Dettol started the year with their new campaign for children, where one lucky winner gets the chance of winning “The Dettol Warrior Education Fund” worth Rs. 250,000. The campaign is based on the upcoming adventure of the Dettol Warriors. In the Campaign, Dettol encourages children to use their imagination to help the Dettol Warriors defeat Germoon by giving a free missed call on 0306-3338865 and voting for their favorite idea via SMS. Since the mechanics are primarily audio-based, except for the entry participation via SMS, Dettol realized that the message needs to also reach those children for whom listening to the phoneline might not be a possibility. The renowned actor Sania Saeed hosted the story telling session that was translated into sign language for the students of the Deaf Reach School.
Humayun Farooq, Director Marketing – Health, Reckitt Benckiser (RB) Pakistan, makers of Dettol talking about this initiative said, “Dettol Warriors are popular superhero characters spreading the message of health and hygiene amongst kids. We are happy to have the Deaf Reach School as our partner in this mission so that children across Pakistan can participate in our education programs to inculcate awareness on personal hygiene. This will help reduce illnesses amongst children.”
Talking about this initiative, Mehrin Abrar, Principal Karachi Campus, Deaf Reach School said, “Visual learning is a huge part of the learning curriculum at our school and we are glad that Dettol has taken this step of designing a hands on experience to educate our kids about the importance of personal hygiene. It is critical for them to know how to protect themselves against illnesses and germs.”
Dettol also has an extensive School Education Program spread across the entire year, reaching out to over 2.5 million children for many years. The program creates hygiene related awareness amongst school-going children to help them fight against germs. Dettol’s school program also aims to improve school attendance for children through the awareness they raise. Says in press release
