Paintings exhibition “RENAISSANCE” by Hamed Azeemi opens at ArtKaam Gallery

KARACHI: Paintings exhibition “RENAISSANCE” by Hamed Azeemi inaugurated at ArtKaam Gallery, C-117, Sector 31-A, Near Brookes Roundabout. Korangi Industrial Area.

(Born, 2 April 1983) – Hamed Azeemi is a Concept-Artist, Illustrator, Painter, Calligrapher and a Comic-Book artist. Hamed Azeemi is a calligrapher who comes from a long lineage of master calligraphers. Hamed’s father and grandfather were prominent calligraphers and religious scholars in Pakistan. From a very young age, Hamed under the guidance of his father and grandfather began to master the five famous calligraphy styles; Nastaleeque, Naskh, Thuluth, Diwani and Ruqua.

Hamed spent six years in Lahore, Pakistan, studying under various prominent calligraphy masters, artists and painters. He has also taught art and calligraphy at various art institutes.

Hamed is also inspired by the Islamic architectural buildings; Masjids and Shrines. He has developed a unique style of painting realist Muslim architectural building of different geographical areas, of different eras and of different architectural features and amalgamated them with such ease that they all appear to be of one single building complex. This juxtaposing of building features has now become his forte.

Hamed’s future plans include writing the HOLY Qur’an in the Thuluth and Nastaleeque script, which has never been done before.

Growing from a private collection to an online gallery and then to a physical space, ArtKaam has taken a natural progression of a dream. A dream to see Pakistani art flourish with a space compatible to handle large displays of art. Junaid Hamid said.

ArtKaam Gallery has arguably one of the largest display areas (over 2500 sq. ft.) for art exhibitions, seminars and art communes with our zeal to project quality Pakistani Art and Artists worldwide. Not limited to Paintings only, we also will encourage, showcase and promote all physical art forms including, sculptures, handicrafts, period furniture etc. in due course.

The exhibition will continue till March 30, 2019 from 11 am – 7 pm (Monday to Saturday).
