DUBAI: Arabian Adventures, the UAE’s leading destination management company, has completed one of its busiest peak seasons ever. Offering personalised service and genuine Arabian hospitality, the company’s 500 customer-oriented staff helped over 110,000 customers experience the true essence of the country on a total of over 3,000 safaris and 2,500 tours.
In the peak season from October to April, Arabian Adventures’ most popular safari programme was the Sundowner Safari. More than 81,000 guests watched the sun go down on a dune drive in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) and enjoyed an entertaining evening and a delicious dinner in a Bedouin style camp. A new programme, the Overnight Safari also became a popular choice for both UAE residents and visitors of the country: over 400 guests spent a tranquil overnight experience under the stars, in the heart of the DDCR. 1,600 customers preferred an exhilarating adventure to a relaxing experience and discovered the desert by driving across the dunes with a fully automatic, four-seater, off-road dune buggy.
Besides its renowned safari programmes, Arabian Adventures organised various tours to the cities and picturesque countryside of the UAE. The most popular sightseeing tour was the Abu Dhabi city tour: over 4,500 guests explored the panoramic sights and grand landmarks of the capital with Arabian Adventures. Dubai also remained a top choice for customers, with tours presenting the modern and traditional facets of the city being attended by more than 4,000 guests.
Arabian Adventures’ activities were coordinated by a dedicated team of 110 experienced guides, who speak a total of over 15 languages. The expert guides shared interesting insights and fun facts to make the guests’ experience even richer, while ensuring the highest level of quality and safety on every tour and safari.
Arabian Adventures has always been at the forefront of sustainable tourism in the UAE. The company constantly monitors and manages its carbon footprint and operates its Dubai-based safaris in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) donating a portion of the fees to local conservation projects. In 2018 Arabian Adventures continued to take initiatives to conserve the environment. It worked towards limiting waste and managed to reduce the amount of single-use plastic in its operations by 77%. Its trained guides also ensured that all waste from the campsites were removed from the desert with paper, plastic and cans being recycled. In addition, the company saved a significant amount of water by recycling and purifying the water used for the cleaning of its fleet.
Arabian Adventures has been recognised for its sustainability efforts with multiple awards. It is the only operator in the Middle East to be consistently accredited with the CEMARS (Carbon and Energy Measurement and reduction scheme) award since 2010. In 2017 Arabian Adventures also received the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Award for the “Best Desert Camp”.
