DUBAI: Tourism Malaysia is planning to collaborate with one of the largest Online Travel Agency (OTA) in the Middle East Holidayme, as part of their efforts to drive more tourist traffic from the UAE to Malaysia.
Tourism Malaysia together with Holidayme will announce this joint initiative during the Arabian Travel Mart 2019. The target is to promote Malaysia in the UAE as a destination which is affordable, tourist friendly and has good flight connectivity.
The partnership will see Holidayme promote Malaysia through a series of marketing initiatives that encourage visitors to discover and visit Malaysia with a variety of complete holiday packages to choose from through a user friendly interface which allows users to choose from a wide range of hotels, local excursions and local activities.
Shiraz Farooqui, Head – Alliances, Holidayme said, “Holidayme is always in a quest to explore new tourist friendly destination specially for travelers from Middle East. We have been receiving a lot of response from our users inquiring about Malaysia as a destination and we wanted to focus on the destination by doing special campaigns to further promote it. This partnership would surely assist the tourists from the region to plan their holidays to Malaysia using our user friendly interface. This partnership with Holidayme will further improve Malaysia’s position as the preferred travel destination for travelers from Middle East.”

Last year, Malaysia was named the Best Muslim Travel Destination 2018 by Mastercard & Crescent Ratings 2018 Global Muslim Travel Index. Malaysia was also listed in the Top 5 for country with the Best Healthcare and the Best Places to Retire in the World 2018 by internationalliving.com.
Malaysia recorded 9,386 Emirati tourists in 2018, representing a 9.7% growth in tourist arrivals compared to 2017. BIZ TODAY REPORT
