KARACHI: The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) on Friday May 24th held an iftar meal event hosted at the Baitussalam Education Complex situated in the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan.
As part of its services during the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan, TİKA served iftar to 1,000 villagers and students in the outskirts of Karachi according to a statement issued by the Agency.
Honourable Provincial Minister, MPAs, TIKA’s Head of the Balkans and Eastern Europe Department – Dr.Mahmut Cevik along with the Turkish Consul in Karachi – Murat Erkol attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mahmut Cevik said that the Agency had organized iftar meals in around 150 countries, including in Africa, the Balkans and South America. The local MPA Mr. Sajid Jokhio appreciated the efforts of TIKA in Pakistan in the areas of education, water-sanitation, livestock, and emphasised on the need to further strengthening the bilateral partnership in areas of skill development and trade.
The trustee of Baitussalam Welfare Trust – Mr. Uzair Zavary gave the note of thanks to the Turkish Dignitaries and the Honorable current Turkish leadership for facilitating Baitussalam and extending its support to humanitarian crises in Syria. Says in press release
