Arts Council and Crescent Gallery hosts pre-launch ceremony of Marjorie Hussain’s “World of Tassaduq Sohail”

KARACHI: Arts Council of Pakistan in collaboration with Crescent Gallery organized a pre-launch ceremony of Marjorie Hussain’s “World of Tassaduq Sohail”; a book on the illustrations of Tassaduq Sohail; notable artist.

President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that Tassaduq has mastered in arts, he was one of the few Pakistani artists who is recognized internationally. He said that Tasadduq portrayed untold stories in his paintings, which is a true form of art.

Qazi said that Marjorie is a famous art critic. She has tried to reach the soul of Tassaduq’s inspiration for the masterpieces he created. He was of the view that Pakistan had versatile artists such as Sadqain, Guljee, Chughtai and there was not any uniformity in their work.

This publication will promote soft image of our culture and talent abroad. We are a country with versatile culture, each province has its own lifestyle enriched in old civilizations of South Asia. Asif said that 1st book launch will held in London on 15th July this year, later on it will be launched in Karachi and Newyork. He thanked President Arts Council for acquiring a gallery in National Museum for Tassaduq Sohail’s paintings. Nasir Javaid, nephew of Tassaduq praised Marjorie for her tremendous effort. He said that Marjorie has told historical life facts along with old and new paintings.

“Tasadduq camouflaged his personality because he was a creative man” said Shahid Rassam. Other speakers were of the view that Tasadduq was a good storyteller. BIZ TODAY REPORT
