KARACHI: Mr Samir Mir Shaikh, of Pakistan Peoples Party, led a delegation of businessmen, social activists, young entrepreneurs and PPP members and met with PPP President Sindh Mr Nisar Khuhro, Mr Khurshid Shah MNA, and Mr Rafiq Jamali MNA at Khuhro House.
During the meeting, Mr Nisar Khuhro emphasized the importance of youth activism in the current political scenario, pointing out that now more than ever, the youth should step forward and make their voice heard, to uphold democracy and civil rights. They should step forward and actively take part in politics, hold seminars, talks and use social media too to engage audience and spread the vision and message of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
To further this conversation, Mr Khurshid Shah MNA, tallied about the current scenario with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) issuing white paper against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and termed that it has missed almost all targets relating to tax collection, growth, exports, employments, borrowing, inflation and deviated from all promises made with the nation before general election 2018. He went on to discuss the political victimization and blame games of PTI as a tactic to deviate attention away from unequivocal losses for the nation. Mr Shah said it is imperative that the backbone of the civil society, the businessmen and the professionals, the youth and the educated liberals take notice of these actions and support PPP.
Mr Rafiq Jamali MNA, also said that the most notable achievement of PTI was to censor the media, silence the judges, water-canon citizens daring to protest and persecute the opposition by imprisoning its leaders, which was by virtue, an act against every humanitarian and civil fundamental right afforded to citizens in a free world. In fact, that is perhaps the only sinister implementation of his promise on which he didn’t waver, because he used the blanket of accountability to basically silence every voice in opposition.
Mr Nisar Khuhro in the end remarked that Pakistan’s foreign policy had seen car driving, begging bowl missions, wishes for Modi win, missed calls, but all these had failed to elevate Pakistan’s status in the region or in the world. The only thing that can bring a bright future for the nation, is for the youth to align their vision with that of PPP, which promises to promote trade, equal rights for all, accessible education and technical training and above all, the upholding of fundamental civilian rights, as is citizens right. In closing, Mr Nisar Khuhro Advisor to Chief Minister on Works & Services Universities and Boards & MNA Khursheed Shah appreciated Mr Samir Mir Shaikh for his active role in promoting the agenda and mandate of Pakistan Peoples Party, with utmost righteousness and dedication.
