DUBAI: Emirates Airline has partnered with the Beirut Basketball Club to sponsor its 2019/2020 season. The deal underscores the airline’s long-standing commitment to supporting basketball in the region as well as connecting with the fan base of this popular sport.
The sponsorship deal, which starts on 3 October, will see Emirates receive digital and static branding opportunities on the court across 73 men’s and 50 women’s Division 1 televised matches, digital and social media activation rights on the Club’s platforms as well as game ticket allocations for each match.

Emirates has been a long-standing key sponsor of the UAE and Lebanese Basketball Associations, and we value our involvement by supporting both leagues’ events, teams and players to help boost the growing sport of basketball in the region.”
Nadim Hakim, Beirut Basketball Club President said: “We are extremely honoured and proud to have Emirates Airline as one of our sponsors for the 2019/2020 season. The name and reputation of Emirates is a big incentive for Beirut Club to continue promoting basketball in Lebanon and in the Arab World as well as building basketball academies for the youth.”
Emirates has also sponsored the Lebanese Basketball League. In addition, airline has sponsored top division teams in the Lebanese Basketball League through its support of jersey and institutional sponsorship, most recently supporting the Beirut Basketball Club with jersey sponsorship during the Dubai Basketball Championship earlier this year and Al Hikma BC (Club Sagesse) as jersey sponsors in past seasons.
Emirates has been a loyal supporter of basketball since 1991, when it partnered with the UAE Basketball Association as Sponsor and Official Airline, benefitting from court branding, as well as other marketing benefits across its events. The airline has also been a sponsor of the Dubai International Basketball Championship for 28 years, as well as the staging of the FIBA World Championship in the UAE in 2014. Teams sponsored by Emirates have won the International Basketball Championship seven times.
