ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi-based place-maker IMKAN has joined forces with Nael & Bin Harmal Hydroexport Co LLC (NBHH) to begin construction work for phase one of AlJurf on Sahel Al Emarat (Riviera of the UAE.)
The signing ceremony, which took place in AlJurf to a backdrop of pristine coastal views and the beaches of the Arabian Gulf, bordered by green forests, saw IMKAN’s CEO, Walid El-Hindi and Tony Saliba, the Managing Director of NBHH, symbolically marking the official breaking of ground at the site by making the first shovel strokes together.
Walid El-Hindi commented: “Breaking ground at our second home coastal destination, AlJurf, was another major milestone in a successful year for us. Appointing an established name like NBHH as enabling contractor falls in line with our commitment to collaborate with like-minded partners. AlJurf gardens is the first phase of the entire community and a true reflection of the promise we make to create places that specifically suit the lifestyles of both our residents and visitors.”
AlJurf is nestled within existing nature and is located in Ghantoot between the UAE’s busiest cities. The fully-integrated community is the antithesis of the fast-paced lifestyle that comes with living in the UAE’s major metropolises. It is also in one of Abu Dhabi’s newly established freehold zones and will be a fully integrated community where residents can reset while getting back to nature.
NBHH have begun the construction enabling works for phase 1 of the project, AlJurf Gardens, which is scheduled for completion in 2021. It will comprise of 293 residential villas and land plots. The facilities and amenities include unique residential communities and serviced residences, a world-renowned wellness clinic and resort, a private beach, a private marina and community center all situated amid abundant and verdant open spaces.
Tony Saliba, the Managing Director of NBHH said: “Working with a company like IMKAN who approach real estate from such a unique angle presented us with a new experience and a welcomed challenge. Our established expertise, industry knowledge and experience combined with IMKAN’s research-based approach to placemaking will ensure that this beautiful stretch of coastline has the most solid of foundations.”
Sales for AlJurf launched in February and the place-maker continues on a constant trajectory; launching projects in the capital and abroad. With this year as IMKAN’s ‘Year of Delivery’ five projects will be ready for handover – three are located in the capital; Sheikha Fatima Park – an open-air green space and hub for leisure and wellness; Nudra – a luxury beachfront community of 37 villas, located in Saadiyat Cultural District and Thanaya, a lively a residential building in Khalidiya. Internationally this year will see the delivery of the first phase of Egypt’s Alburouj, a 5 million sqm complete mixed-use community 20 minutes away from Cairo airport, and in Morocco, Villa Diyafa, a luxurious boutique hotel in Rabat.
El-Hindi concluded: “It’s been a remarkable year so far. We’re on track for our Year of Delivery , and it’s wonderful to see our vision become reality.”
