DUBAI: The Samana Developers, the real estate arm of Dubai-based Samana Group of companies, yesterday announced that their Dh75 million Samana Greens has been nominated by the Construction Innovation Awards in the category of Affordable Sustainable Residential Project of the Year, due to project’s eco-friendly and energy-efficient systems.
Compliant with Dubai Municipality’s green building regulations, the property will use recycled grey water to irrigate the green spaces and landscaping that will purify building’s air and overall environment, while solar panels will be installed to reduce electricity bills. The developer will use green appliances to ensure the building meets Dubai’s vision of becoming a sustainable city. Green appliances consume less energy, are efficient and durable.
The self-financed freehold project – Samana Greens – has 116 residential units ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Located near Miracle Gardens in Arjan, the property sits on a total built-up area of 13,000m². To meet the daily shopping needs of its residents, Samana Greens has space for six retail units, as well as a sauna, a gym, a children’s play area, shaded parking, landscaped areas and leisure deck.
Samana Greens project is also green on the wallet as well. A 9.25% return on investment is being promised for its investors who buy units with the intention to lease. While 98% of the property has been sold to date, Samana Developers said it is determined to complete Samana Greens as scheduled so that potential buyers can see the units before making an investment.
Alan James, General Manager at Samana Developers, said: “We are pleased to be nominated as a sustainable and efficient developer. We are committed to the environment and we consider it our service and contribution to humanity. Our holding company Samana Group’s mission is to be a responsible business. We will continue this legacy in our upcoming projects. Due to its strong sustainable credentials, I am very much hopeful that Samana Greens will reach to the final stage of the Construction Innovation awards.” Says in press release
