Dubai Cares signs agreement with SocioLadder

DUBAI: SocioLadder, a technology and consulting services leader in the humanitarian, charity and social development sector, has signed an agreement with Dubai Cares, UAE-based global philanthropic organization, to launch a crowdfunding platform, enabling the community to raise funds electronically in support of Dubai Cares’ educational programs in developing countries. SocioLadder Charity and CSR platform is powered by IBM technology.

The agreement was signed by H.E Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares and Shravan Charya, Founder & CEO, SocioLadder, in the presence with Ms. Bitty Lamba, Manager at SocioLadder, as well as, well-supported investors and board advisors of SocioLadder – Mohammed Al Koas Al Falasi, Issa Al Rawahy, Omar Al Busaidy and Samah Al Rawahy.

Commenting on the new agreement, H.E. Dr. Al Gurg said: “We are excited about joining forces with SocioLadder and being their partner of choice as they start operating in the Middle East region. This partnership will certainly enhance our fundraising efforts with the best technological solutions. This new platform will also transform the relationship between donors and charities, and will further encourage the members of the UAE community to support our educational programs globally.”

Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), Director of Charitable Institutions Department, Mr. Mohammed Musabeh Ali Dahi reaffirmed their organization’s commitment towards driving transparency by regulating and tracking all charitable activities for the common good of the people involved in this sector by saying, “The crowdfunding platform is an opportunity for all private and non-private organizations to be a part of and contribute to CSR, such credible platform records organizations efforts into contributing to society. As usual, IACAD always supports such creative channels that offers humanitarian opportunities and governs them at the same time. SocioLadder provides an effective “trace and track” mechanism which is crucial to us as regulators and uses SmartDubai payment gateway.”

Mr. Shravan Charya added: “The launch of our crowdfunding platform for UAE and the signing of the MoU with Dubai Cares strengthens SocioLadder’s regional aspiration in the Middle East to transform the way Charity and CSR sectors operate for both fundraising and impact reporting aligned to UN SDGs.
