DUBAI:  The Emirates Group is once again kick-starting activities to support the 2019 edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. The Dubai Fitness Challenge begins on 18 October and will run until 16 November.

To encourage active participation in The Dubai Fitness Challenge, The Emirates Group will once again provide one free Service Related Concession flight ticket to anywhere on the Emirates network, as an incentive for employees who complete the challenge. Over the past two years, over 21,000 Emirates Group employees downloaded the Dubai Fitness app and actively participated in the 30×30 challenge, clocking in a whopping 1.5 million minutes of physical activity.

Across Emirates, dnata, and associated companies of the Group, numerous events, fitness and wellness sessions and interdepartmental sports days will be run during the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge. These will involve some of the 40 different sports and hobby clubs already managed and run by Emirates Group employees, ranging from football, basketball, martial arts, cricket, cycling, rugby, amongst other sports. During the Dubai Fitness Challenge, different classes and training sessions will be facilitated for employees free of charge, such as martial arts, running, karting, basketball, and more. Emirates Group’s wellbeing programme, Sehaty, will also be supporting the Dubai Fitness Challenge by providing informative, health-focused content about exercise, as well as physical fitness tips that staff can integrate into their work and personal life.

In addition, a number of cross-fit, circuit training, stretching and breathing, as well as spinning fitness sessions with local Dubai gyms and well-known instructors are being organised throughout the month for employees at Emirates Group headquarters.

Throughout the year, Emirates Group employees can enjoy special discounts at participating Dubai-based health clubs and gyms, and other exciting group classes. To ensure employees are ready for the 30×30 challenge, discounts on EK Fit clothing at the Emirates Official Store as well as at well-known sportswear and accessories stores can also be availed during the DFC period. Staff can stay updated on Dubai Fitness Challenge initiatives across the organisation through the Emirates Group’s Fitness and Wellbeing intranet site.
