DUBAI: World Memon Organization (WMO) Pakistan Chapter organized it’s third annual flagship conference titled as “The Titans 3.0 – Business Leadership Conference” at Marriott Hotel, Karachi on 12th October 2019. This business conference was attended in large numbers by Memon community including its leaders and well wishers.
Haji Muhammad Rafiq Pardesi, a Pakistani business tycoon based in Dubai also attended this Business Leadership Conference. Mr. Rafiq Pardesi also spoke to media present at this business conference.
He said; “every state relies hugely on their business communities as they help the state to covers issues like employment, revenues generation. In Pakistan, Memon community is very business oriented; I would rather say that Memons have half blood and half business in their veins”.
When asked about if government is seeking any advice from memon community in their policy making, Haji sahib replied; to some extent yes, they do listen to us at times, but don’t implement much on our advise. If talk only and don’t do much you probably would know what the results would be. It is as simple as 2+2, no rocket science in involved even a layman can understand”.
When asked about what is vibrant memon business approach?, he replied that; “once I was with Mushtaq Ahmed Rizvi who told me that if memons are very lucky community, I asked him how is that?, to which he replied that if a memon would go mad they would tend to throw away things here and there, but will only throw money inside his own home. We Memons are blessed to be smart from very early age. Its hard find such smart people all over the world. We have seen people spending vast amount of money to hire smart people, but here in Pakistan you have a very smart memon community and Pakistan should benefit from this community and shouldn’t let it go waste. Goods are there for our benefit and if we don’t benefit from it goods go sour.
How can Pakistan take benefit from smart memon community?, to which he said; “sit with them, listen to them about their problems. Our problems aren’t that big and we can handle our problems internally, I can invest money, I can work hard, I can put in all of my brains, I can use my connections. despite paying taxes we don’t need any support from Government. They should sit with us, listen to us and give approvals and rest we can do to solve our problems”.
