DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group, raised the UAE flag today in front of the Emirates Group Headquarters Building on the occasion of UAE Flag Day. This annual event is a celebration to honour the efforts of the UAE’s founders, renew the national spirit, and reflect on the achievements of the era of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan since he became the President of the UAE in 2004. Emirates Group staff proudly participated in the flag raising ceremony earlier this morning.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed commented: “We are honoured to mark UAE Flag Day and to reflect on the country’s past, present and promising future. This is a time for us to take stock of the efforts taken by the UAE’s leaders’ to chart the path that has shaped this great nation.

As we stand today to raise the flag, it is also fitting during the UAE’s Year of Tolerance that people of different cultures and nationalities come together to celebrate the country’s achievements. As we look to the future, we are bound by our shared values and ambitions to continue building a modern and progressive nation.”
