DUBAI: yallacompare, the Middle East’s leading financial comparison platform, has formed a first-of-its-kind partnership with Smiles, the award-winning deals and rewards program of Etisalat.
In addition to great offers across shopping, dining, entertainment, wellness and travel categories, users of Smiles will soon be able to compare insurance offers and buy their insurance from yallacompare within the Smiles app. Smiles users can earn and redeem Smiles points against purchase of insurance offers from the yallacompare link inside the Smiles app.
Gross written premium for all insurance classes were worth AED 44.8 billion in the UAE in 2017, according to the UAE Insurance Authority. While that represented growth of 12% over the year before, yallacompare believes there is considerable scope for growth in new segments of the market.
“The insurance market is growing rapidly in UAE, yet many types of insurance, including home, life, personal accident and travel cover, are still seen as a ‘nice to have’, rather than essential,” said Jonathan Rawling, CFO, yallacompare.
“This important partnership with Smiles and Etisalat will help to further raise awareness of the different types of cover available and how affordable they can be. It will make it easier than ever for UAE residents to buy insurance and ensure they have adequate protection against the unforeseen.”
Khaled El Khouly, Chief Consumer Officer of Etisalat, said: “At Etisalat, we endeavour to offer the best value and the most innovative services to our customers. Smiles with its wide ecosystem of partners has been consistently offering value to our customers, which is beyond telecom. We are pleased to announce this first ever in UAE innovative tie-up with yallacompare that would enable Smiles users to get the best value on insurance offers across multiple insurance providers within their favourite Smiles app.” Smiles is one of the largest engagement and lifestyle platforms in UAE with more than 2 million Smiles app users, 650 plus partner brands offering deals at more than 3,500 locations.
