DUBAI: New opportunities are on the horizon for local and international businesses at Expo 2020 Dubai, with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to play a pivotal role in creating new connections and collaborations as an Official Partner.
As an official partner, Dubai Chamber will represent and support the interests of the UAE business community at Expo 2020, the World’s Greatest Show of human brilliance and achievement, helping to connect them with international businesses, innovators, investors, and international chambers of commerce to create new avenues of long-term commercial success.
The partnership was signed by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, and His Excellency Hamad Buamim, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the sidelines of the two-day Global Business Forum Africa, taking place in Dubai on 18-19 November.
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy said: “Dubai has the advantage of being just an eight-hour flight from two-thirds of humanity and hosting Expo 2020 here presents an unprecedented opportunity to connect the world and facilitate collaboration across borders. Dubai Chamber has played an integral role in promoting the advantages of doing business in and with Dubai, and can now take the city and the UAE to a new era of success with this collaboration.”
The partnership will create opportunities for the local and international business communities to meet and collaborate. During Expo 2020, Dubai Chamber will host several high-level events, including the next editions of its Global Business Forum Africa, Global Business Forum Latin America, the inaugural Global Business Forum ASEAN and the World Chambers Congress 2021. Dubai Chamber will also support other investment summits and conferences, including the Global Islamic Economy Summit and The Retail Summit 2020.
His Excellency Hamad Buamim said: “Expo 2020 and Dubai Chamber are natural partners in the mission to catalyse economic growth in Dubai and the UAE. Through its vast international network, Dubai Chamber can provide the right support and resources needed to create valuable and mutually beneficial connections between UAE companies and their global counterparts throughout the six-month event.
“Expo 2020 will be an important platform for us to achieve our goal to position and promote Dubai as a world-class business hub bringing different business communities together to foster collaboration and build partnerships that will create a long-lasting impact.”
During the 173 days of Expo 2020, between 20 October 2020 until 10 April 2021, Dubai Chamber will be present at the Expo 2020 Business Connect Centre, a dedicated space to host chambers of commerce and trade facilitating entities from around the world, as well as global investment firms, venture capitalists, and other business enablers that help foster connectivity and collaboration across borders.
Dubai Chamber’s support will continue long after the World Expo closes, at District 2020, when the urbanisation of the Expo 2020 site will reveal a smart and sustainable district and provide an innovation-driven business ecosystem.
