KARACHI: One of the leaders in the spice industry, Shan Foods (Pvt) Ltd. kicked off their tree plantation drive today in an exclusive inaugural ceremony held at the NJW Grammar School in Korangi.
Shan Foods has joined hands with Daraz and the United Nations Association of Pakistan (UNAP) to promote a clean and green Pakistan. The team at Shan Foods understands the threat climate change poses and as part of their CSR initiatives, is working towards building a greener Pakistan for future generations. As a part of this drive 11,000 trees will be distributed through UNAP to ten educational institutions across Karachi.
Speaking at the event, Maria Rashdi from Shan Foods said, “We, at Shan Foods, have always focused on delivering the best to our consumers. We aim to bring happiness in their lives, and a cleaner, greener Karachi will definitely contribute towards this. Trees play a vital role in our lives and we all need to do is to work together to plant more trees across our city and country, as this is a critical need of the hour. We are thankful to our partners in joining hands with us and working towards this goal collectively.”
In order to further this campaign and to encourage consumers to play their part towards a greener Pakistan, Shan Foods is also promoting their best-selling SKUs as green deals on daraz under the ‘sponsor a tree’ category – where a portion of the raised funds will go towards this project. Following the plantation drive at the NJW Grammar School, the remaining plants will be distributed to IBA, CBM, Habib University, Szabist, the British International School, all of The City School’s campuses in Karachi, Karachi Grammar School, Education Bay and Foundation Public School.
