Middlesex University Dubai celebrates its diversity through its 11th Annual International Day

DUBAI: Applauding the cultural diversity represented by more than 100 nationalities, Middlesex University Dubai celebrated its 11th Annual International Day on 28 November 2019 at its campus in Dubai Knowledge Park.

The festivities kicked-off with recognising the country’s acceptance of nationalities from across the globe through the UAE’s National Anthem. This was followed by a collection of activities ranging from traditional food and beverages, live performances, music and dance, which showcased the cultures and traditions of over 35 countries including the UK, South Korea, China, Spain, Russia, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, India, Africa and many more. 

More than XX students, staff and faculty from across the various departments actively participated and interacted with the various nationalities represented. 

“We are immensely proud of the diverse cultures and countries represented by more than 3,500 students studying with us. International Day is an annual celebration through which we provide students and faculty with a platform to explore the traditions of different nations and learn more about tolerance and respect,” said Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai.” “As we head towards the 48th UAE National Day, we also wanted to honour the great nation we call home, which truly accepts and welcomes different nationalities from across the globe,” he added.
