Dubai Police Academy announces date of graduation ceremony of higher education students and 27th batch of cadets

DUBAI: The Dubai Police Academy has revealed the completion of preparations being made for the coming graduation ceremony of higher education students, including the 27th batch of cadets, which is set to take place on January 15, 2020 at the Coca-Cola Arena located at City Walk. The announcement was made today (15th December 2019) during a press conference held at the Police Officers’ Club in Dubai.

Aside from the coming graduation rites, the Dubai Police Academy also announced this year’s pre-event activities ‘Policeman Carnival,’ which is set to happen from January 2 to January 9, 2020 across several select locations in the emirate. The carnival is a series of events and activities that include police shows, formation drills, band exhibitions and recreational & awareness initiatives aimed at promoting the important role that Dubai Police plays in achieving community security and happiness.

Scientific Certificates

Brigadier Dr. Ghaith Ghanim Al Suwaidi, Director of the Dubai Police Academy, said: “In line with the directives issued by Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and with the follow-up of Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Fahd, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Academic Affairs and Training at Dubai Police, Dubai Police Academy is committed in utilizing all of its capabilities to provide the necessary support needed to enable young people and individuals in obtaining the best academic degrees in the fields of training, legal and security scientific research in accordance with best international standards and practices.”

Al Suwaidi added, “The Dubai Police Academy has successfully been able to promote its leading position across the fields of training, education and scientific research. Today, the Academy offers 20 doctoral and licensing programs in law and criminology; a master’s degree in law, whether public, private, criminal, and commercial law, and human rights; and a master’s degree in Police Science. The number of graduates of the Academy since it was first established has now reached about 6,748 graduates, including 2,582 candidate students, 2,890 students of regular evening studies, 265 in Master of Laws programs, and 127 in Master programs in Police Science, and 33 in Ph.D. programs in Law and Police Science, along with 851 university students.”

The Carnival and pre-event activities

On the activities accompanying the graduation ceremony, Al Suwaidi shared, “We will be celebrating the new batch of graduates early by implementing field events and performances in Hatta, La Mer, GBR, the Global Village, Al Seef Area, and City Walk, within the framework of our strategic directive to make Dubai the happiest and most secure and stable living, social and humane.”

He added, “We are confident that the events and performances that graduate students will organize will be an important and distinctive addition to our pioneering career, which is not only limited to providing security and safety, but also in the efforts to entrench concepts of happiness, positivity and luxury in society. We are keen in launching community activities accompanying the graduation ceremony to consolidate a culture of tolerance and positivity and create an educational environment that makes Dubai more safe and secure.”The graduation ceremony of the Dubai Police Academy will be held on the 15th of January, 2020 at the Coca-Cola Arena located at City Walk, where 117 students with a BA in Law and Police Sciences will graduate, among them 101 from the UAE, 8 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 7 from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and 1 from the State of Kuwait. In addition, 52 male and female students in graduate programs with master’s and doctorate degrees will also be graduating. The graduation rites, in cooperation with (Memories Events) will also feature for the first time in the world an Artistic lighting show, formations show, and artistic shows in 6D. The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.
