DUBAI: Emirates, the Official Sponsor of the Los Angeles Dodgers, welcomed Los Angeles Dodgers baseball players, Max Muncy and Austin Barnes to Dubai last week. The players scored a home run as they engaged with young baseball fans across the city including a surprise visit to the American School of Dubai and the Dubai Little League Park.
Emirates’ partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers tracks back to 2016 and the players’ visit to Dubai strengthens the airline’s commitment to supporting local communities and to growing the sport of baseball across the UAE.
While in Dubai, Max Muncy and Austin Barnes paid a special visit to the American School of Dubai to surprise students on the last day of term. Young baseball fans were treated to an exclusive Q&A session, received autograph signings and learned batting tips and techniques.
The day continued at the Rugby Sevens Stadium where the Dodgers engaged with Emirates staff and played a friendly match with Emirates corporate cricket team, Fly Emirates. Drawing on the similarities between both sports, the players exchanged fun tips on how to bat like a baseball pro, and how to swing like a cricket legend.
To conclude their visit, the LA Dodgers spent a fun-filled morning at the Dubai Little League Park where young, aspirational baseball players enjoyed a day of mentoring and learning first-rate techniques on how to become a professional baseball player. Kids and families of all ages enjoyed participating in the kids’ clinic, playing friendly games with the players and receiving autographs.
