DUBAI: Applications are now open for volunteers to join the team of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. Recognised as one of the leading literature festivals in the world, the eventwill be held at the InterContinental, Dubai Festival City 4-9 February 2020.
More than 300 volunteers take part in this annual event, assisting with all aspects of the running of the Festival. Volunteers will help with the author signings, information desks, box office, room and area management, social media and photography, as well as other tasks.
“We are so grateful to our many volunteers every year”, said AhlamBolooki, Festival Director. “We get many volunteers returning year after year becausethey love the buzz and the excitement of the event, not to mention the team spirit. We welcome volunteers of any age;and we have seen an even split between life-long literature buffs wanting to make a difference,and enthusiastic youth who want to gain experience with a fast-paced, award-winning international event.”
Highlights of this year’s Festival will include Ranulph Fiennes, recognised as the world’s greatest explorer; celebrity branding expert Jeetendr Sehdev; Man Booker International Prize winner JokhaAlharthi; artist and treasured children’s book creator Oliver Jeffers; international bestselling author of the Rosie Project series Graeme Simsion, and many more.
