PENANG: Starlux Airlines today commenced its inaugural flight from Taipei to Penang. The Taiwanese flight company has chosen Penang for its maiden flights to Malaysia.
The direct flight between Penang International Airport (PEN) and Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) in Taipei, Taiwan is operated by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft, which flies once a day with a seating capacity of 188 passengers on each flight. This marks a very important initiative to boost traveling between Malaysia and Taiwan, and enhance more tourist traffic of the two destinations.
Tourism Malaysia welcomes the latest route by Starlux Airlines, and will be running a special joint promotion campaign with major travel agencies in Taiwan to create and sell attractive packages for Penang and destinations beyond such as Langkawi, Ipoh and Cameron Highland.
For record, Malaysia received 304,273 Taiwanese tourists from January to September 2019. VM2020 campaign sees target of 450,000 Taiwanese to visit Malaysia by the end of 2020.
Starlux Airlines is a new airline company with a headquarter in Taipei, Taiwan that is scheduled to begin service in January 2020. In September 2019, the airline announced its launching destinations which include Da Nang, Macau, and Penang. BIZ TODAY MONITOR
