KARACHI: The Nest I/O, P@SHA’s Tech Incubator and Accelerator, signed an MoU with Islamabad United, a leading HBL PSL team, to promote entrepreneurship in the country. Under the umbrella of #UnitedWeTech, both partners will be working together to identify and promote entrepreneurs and founders with a proven Minimum Viable Products (MVP), demonstrated traction, and/or a strong positive social aspect.

“We are launching this initiative to bring focus to entrepreneurship and technology in Pakistan. We strongly believe that the future of Pakistan and its citizens is strongly linked to, and dependent upon, the adoption, nurturing, and growth of technology in every sphere of society. P@SHA and The Nest I/O are the premiers institutions in this space and hence they were our first port of call and we are happy to announce our tie up with them,” commented Ali Naqvi, Owner Islamabad United and AAN-Leonin Sports.

Islamabad United has won two of the five HBL PSL trophies and has the largest social media following of all PSL teams. The Nest I/O will be working closely with ISLU to identify deserving startups and entrepreneurs from across the country and help these startups get the most out of the partnership. With over 5 years of experience in startup training, development, and growth, The Nest I/O will be able to not only identify the most deserving startups, but also train the selected startups to improve their brand presence and pitching so they can make the most of this opportunity. The end goal of the partnership is to address one of the prominent challenges facing local startups – attaining visibility and brand recognition.

“Our partnership with Islamabad United is one of its kind in Pakistan, and hopefully, first of the many to come. HBL PSL draws millions of fans each year and it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase local talent and the amazing work that Pakistani entrepreneurs are doing. The technology sector is going to be the game changer for this country and startups and SMEs will play a major role in this transformation” commented Jehan Ara, President P@SHA and Founder The Nest I/O.

The partnership between Islamabad United and The Nest I/O is a big step forward for the local startup ecosystem. For the first time in Pakistan, the masses will have an opportunity to get introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship while at the same time, local startups will get the visibility and recognition that they need to disrupt the space.
