DUBAI: AkzoNobel, the world leader in paints and coatings and manufacturer of Dulux paints in the UAE, has added to the color and joy of students at the Pakistan Educational Academy in Dubai by contributing two metric tonnes (2 MT) of its decorative paints to support the school’s renovation programme.

AkzoNobel and Pakistan Educational Academy also joined hands to organise an arts competition for the students, and rewarded winners with prizes and certificates.

With the contribution of the decorative paints, the school premises have enhanced aesthetic appeal that makes the time students spend there more enjoyable, in addition to inspiring their creativity. The choice of environment-friendly paints further adds to the safe, wellness-driven premises that the school offers for its students and staff.

Twenty-two team members of the school, including students and staff, and 30 volunteers of AkzoNobel took part in driving the new color enhancement programme for the school as well as the arts competition.

Jasbir Gill, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa of AkzoNobel, said: “As a global paints and coatings company, we know the significant impact colors have on the environment and livability of living spaces and communities. It’s truly humbling experience to see the children’s responses to their ‘new’ aesthetic environments, underlining how much we can contribute to people’s lives when you set your heart to it. The contribution to the school is another example of how we support the community we serve in.”

Lubna Khan, Principal of Pakistan Educational Academy, added: “Our main aim is to provide high quality, stimulating educational environment where our students thrive, enjoy and maximise their learning. It was a pleasure to welcome AkzoNobel who renovated the school by adding color to the lives of our students.”

Founded in 1968, Pakistan Educational Academy has 1,433 students. In addition to high-quality education, the school provides free career-counselling workshops to build a positive impact on its students. The Academy also supports underprivileged students by providing free education. PR
