KARACHI: Gardens are always special places which are filled with trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, plants and sometimes man-made materials adding to the natural beauty. The blooming flowers all over is known for its ethereal, star-like blossoms, as well its tendency to bloom simultaneously in the first week of March every year for the past 38-years initiated by Mr. M.W.Farooqui and the tradition continuing by his sons Mr. Kalim Farooqui and Mr. Naim Farooqui to celebrate and share nature’s bounties.
Plant-lovers gather to celebrate its unfurling, much talked about ‘Garden Party’. Everyone starting from the Diplomatic Corps based in Karachi to Businessmen to Associations/Federations Heads to other city notables tried to make their presence possible at the gloomery event by the Farooquis who put a whole year of passionate effort in their garden to make this 38-year signature event possible.
On the side one sees live pizza, seasonal fresh juices, kababs, fish, BBQ, donuts, ice-cream and what not being served to the guests. Mr. Kalim Farooqui, a long-time member and until recently the Chairman of the Horticulture Society of Pakistan, takes out time from his busy schedule and takes care of the garden himself. He always has something new to present in the garden. May Allah bless the Farooquis with full strength to serve the community with the same zeal and the passion to follow in the generations to come.
