DUBAI: Ushna Suhail hails from a family of tennis players. Her grandfather, Khwaja Iftikhar was a Tennis stalwart. Carrying on the tradition, Ushna became the first female Tennis player from Pakistan to hold an international ranking in Women Tennis Association.
As a sportswoman, Ushna laments the lack of international sporting events in Pakistan. She feels that this has been the biggest challenge for her. For any athlete, the opportunity to compete with players from across the world is one of the greatest learning platforms. Ushna says that her parents, coached and trainers have been her rock, guiding her in times of distress and keeping her motivated. She also feels that her sponsor has had major role in her career and that it was because of her sponsor that she was able to travel abroad and participate in several tournaments
