KARACHI: All Pakistan Restaurant Association (APRA) has welcomed the SOPs issued by the Sindh Govt for holy month of Ramadan and assures all possible cooperation, but at the same time, appealed to Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to help the restaurant industry due to financial crunch and requested to allow both delivery and takeaway and extend the duration to at least Sehri.
Athar Chawla, Convener of APRA, said that the measures taken by the Sindh Govt to save masses from coronavirus pandemic were commendable and in this regard, the restaurant industry has also offered its fullest cooperation in spite of all financial difficulties.
“According to the Sindh Govt’s SOPs, the move to allow delivery of prepared food for only 5 hours in the month of Ramadan, which should be reconsidered as only 5 hours is too short for restaurants”, he appealed to CM Syed Murad Ali Sha.
Mr. Chawla said that as delivery and takeaways have been opened for 24 hours and 12 hours in all parts of the world including Pakistan, we request that we also be allowed to deliver and takeaways from 4 pm to 5am, as restaurants would not benefit from the short duration of just 5 hours.
“We appeal to Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to allow takeaway & delivery at least till Sehri so that we can work smoothly”, Athar Chawla requested.
He further said that we have never opposed the steps taken by the Govt but have always supported and will continue to cooperate.
